RecallTutor ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information, and the rights you have over it. By using the Service at https://recalltutor.com, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information

When you register an account, we collect your email address and your password hash. Passwords are stored in irreversible hash form — we cannot view your original password.

1.2 Learning content

When you create a course, we collect and store the material or learning goal you provide, the generated course outline, your tutoring conversation history, mastery progress, and any notes you write.

1.3 Usage logs

We record basic usage logs (time, action type, quota consumption) for quota control and operational analysis.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain the Service, including generating courses and delivering tutoring;
• Process subscriptions and enforce plan quotas;
• Keep accounts secure and prevent fraud and abuse;
• Improve the product experience and perform operational statistics.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to operate the Service:

• Third-party AI model providers: the study material and conversation context needed to generate tutoring responses are sent to AI model providers, which process them solely to fulfill your request;
• Hosting and infrastructure providers: they host our code, database, and data;
• Email delivery: verification codes are sent on your behalf when you register;
• Payment processors: necessary payment details when you subscribe.

Apart from legal obligations or your explicit consent, we do not share your personal information in any other way.

4. Data Storage and Security

We adopt industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Please note that no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, account data is kept for 90 days and then deleted, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

• View and update your account information.
• View your courses, learning progress, and conversation history at any time.
• Export or delete your courses, notes, and conversations.
• Contact us to delete your account, or to request deletion, export, or correction of your personal data where applicable.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage and cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. You can clear these in your browser settings, but clearing them will sign you out.

The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old or who have reached the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction. If you are a minor, please do not use the Service.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days before they take effect via email or in-product notice. Continued use of the Service after that means you accept the updated policy.
