About

Why RecallTutor exists

Most learning tools make it easy to feel productive without actually learning anything. You highlight, you re-read, you ask an AI for the answer — and you walk away thinking you understand. But when the exam comes, or when you need to apply the knowledge, nothing sticks.

RecallTutor is built on a single principle: retrieval is the only thing that builds memory. You don't learn by reading answers — you learn by pulling them out of your own head. Every feature, from the Socratic questioning to the per-point mastery check, exists to enforce that one idea.

Who it's for

RecallTutor is designed for people who learn from their own material with a specific goal:

  • Self-taught developers working through documentation and tutorials
  • Professionals studying for technical certifications (AWS, CompTIA, Linux, etc.)
  • Students working through dense textbooks who need to actually retain the material
  • Anyone who's ever said "I understood it while reading, but I can't recall it later"

How it's different

You can't skip the work

Unlike ChatGPT's study mode or NotebookLM, our course structure is not optional. The tutor doesn't advance until you prove you've mastered the current point.

Your material, your course

Upload your own notes, documentation, or textbook chapters. The AI doesn't guess what you're studying — it works from what you give it.

Zero prompt engineering

You don't need to craft the perfect prompt. Paste your material, review the outline, and start learning. The tutor handles the rest.

Privacy

Your study material is yours. We never use it to train AI models, and we never share it with third parties beyond what's strictly necessary to run the service (AI model inference, hosting, and payment processing).

See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
